Last Saturday morning, the temperature was about 20 degrees at 7am and I decided it would be a good idea to take a boat ride on the river. Or rather, my friend decided it. And it was AWESOME! Photographing the Central Catholic Crew team was such an amazing experience from start to finish.
I arrived at 5:45am with the moon still out and started shooting the teams prepping for their races. Having never attended a crew event before, this was completely foreign territory and I was fascinated to observe the teams unloading all of their equipment and carrying it down to the river to launch. I had not expected to actually be on one of the boats so it was quite a nice surprise. The races began shortly after the sun came up and I was right there with them. Being on the river at such a beautiful time of day was breathtaking and watching the teams row was really exhilarating! I will be begging to do this again sometime!
